What makes Erbert and Gerbert’s great to own?
Current franchisees explain what made Erbert and Gerbert’s the right choice when starting their own sandwich shops
If you’re interested in starting your own sandwich shop, you might want to consider opening an Erbert and Gerbert’s franchise. From simple operations in the store to hands-on support from our corporate team, here’s what current owners like most about our franchise opportunity.
A supportive franchise partnership
Whether you’re new to business ownership or just new to the sandwich industry, we help guide you through the steps of starting your own sandwich shop with us. And we view our franchisees as our partners, so we have dedicated ongoing support to keep you going strong.
“Erbert and Gerbert’s is an amazing company. I felt that they were truly working with us,” says Ashwaubenon, WI, franchisee Brigett Blise. “We had owned another franchise business before, and we were on our own. Nobody really cared. The people at Erbert and Gerbert’s, they do care. They want us to be successful. They help us make it successful.”
“If I can make it, anybody can make it because I had no restaurant experience at all. Erbert and Gerbert’s set up a footprint which I was able to follow and become successful,” says multi-unit franchisee Jerry Treleven. “They have business consultants that come around quite often who are very knowledgeable and can look at our profit and loss statements and just within minutes help us find where we might be able to improve.”
Simple and lean operations
“You can really operate with a minimal amount of people working in the store. From a labor standpoint, we are very competitive that way,” says Rick Swanson, a franchisee in Hudson, WI. “When I check other restaurants, we get by with a lot less in labor costs.”
The simple operations make it easy for you to train and manage staff, and easier to scale and build your business.
“Once I bring new employees in, I can train them in a week,” says Treleven. “It’s all right there in front of you. It’s so simple.”
A business to be proud of
Most of all, our franchisees love being a part of a franchise they can be proud of, serving a great product that helps them get involved in their communities.
“It’s a lot of work, but it’s fun work. It’s not like going to the factory every day and stuffing something in a carton or doing the same thing,” says Treleven. “It’s just fun. There’s always something different.”
“The local high school kids order from me a lot, and I try and give back to them as much as I can,” says Blise. “Every year, we donate all the food for the prom, all the platters. I take care of them, and they’re always ordering.”
“Owning my own business, that’s something that I look forward to each and every day,” says Swanson. “I don’t regret a day when I go in.”
